{"id":9159,"date":"2025-10-23T11:18:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T11:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/m.fundacionosopardo.org\/?p=9159"},"modified":"2026-09-18T11:06:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T11:06:17","slug":"coordination-of-work-for-coexistence-in-asturias","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/m.fundacionosopardo.org\/en\/coordination-of-work-for-coexistence-in-asturias\/","title":{"rendered":"Coordination of Work for Coexistence in Asturias"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 22 October, Cangas del Narcea Town Hall hosted a working meeting of the six Asturian municipalities participating in the project <a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionosopardo.org\/en\/life-projects\/project-life-human-bear-coex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LIFE Human Bear Coex<\/a>, together with the Principality of Asturias, an associated partner in the project, and the Brown Bear Foundation (FOP), the project coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>The municipalities of Somiedo, Belmonte de Miranda, Proaza, Cangas del Narcea, Dega\u00f1a and Ibias are home to the largest brown bear population in Asturias and, together with three municipalities in Le\u00f3n \u2014 Villablino, P\u00e1ramo del Sil and Palacios del Sil \u2014 are leading the project at the local level. The project is funded by the European Union\u2019s LIFE Programme.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the project is to prevent and mitigate both current and future conflicts between bears and people.
